School publications

The Hutchins School Magazine became known as Virtus from 1991.

The original Newsletter to Hutchins parents spawned a separate concurrent publication, Magenta and Black, intended specifically for Old Boys.

Magenta & Black went on to become a stand-alone publication, now published bi-annually and intended for the whole school community.

From 2007 the Hutchins School Old Boys' Association (HSOBA) issued its own newsletter specifically for Old Boys, called The Ivied Tower.

A monthly bulletin to parents known as Communique ('the little brother to the Hutchins Newsletter') made its first appearance in 1979 owing to the increasing size of its predecessor, which then became a bi-annual publication. Communique went on to be published fortnightly, with special bulletins published on occasions.

Various student newsletters have appeared sporadically over the years, the most consistently published being the Junior School Newsletter and Vivit Post, the creative effort of Senior School students.
